Who would have imagined that our inaugural HMIAD weekend in 2017 would have been so damned much fun?! But thanks to the open-hearted nature of our event committee, the weekend was a complete success.
This year, we were able to open the event up to close friends & family. The event… the experience… the performances… SO MUCH FUN!
Now, all that’s missing is you.
Hot Mess in a Dress started as the culmination of several seasons of watching RuPaul’s Drag Race. Though we don’t know for sure what it will become, we certainly know this first weekend was a serious hoot! What started as a celebration of our friendships and our communal appreciation of camp and hilarity became an affront on the insecurities we have donning attire and personas that we are otherwise unaccustomed to.
We explored freedom and humor and laughter and tragic attempts to cover our eyebrows… and ended feeling better in our own (more moisturized) skin as a result.
